Hurricane Ian: Another delay in the supply chain
Hurricane Ian being one of the biggest storms Florida has seen, has destroyed miles of infrastructure including bridges and highways. As if the lingering issues of the pandemic were not causing enough delays in the supply chain, this natural disaster will cause an even bigger halt.
Port Tampa Bay, the biggest port in Florida, has been shut down with ports located in Georgia and the Carolinas restricting hours keeping a close eye on the storm. Railyards such as CSX have also shut down several locations across the area due to the storm. Not only are cargo ports being closed but warehouses and manufacturing facilities have also been put to a pause due to flooding, winds, and power outages.
With the delay in movement and production these impacts can be seen across the affected states as well as the rest of the country across all industries.
